We are excited to bring the latest insights from the Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC), an initiative funded by the European Commission as part of the Digital Europe Program. The DSSC focuses on defining common requirements and establishing best practices and guidelines to accelerate the design and implementation of Data Spaces, emphasizing sovereignty, interoperability, and trust as its main pillars.

This month’s webinar is a must-attend as part of the DSSC Insight series, delving into the pivotal role of data spaces in accelerating the green transition.   • Meet Prof. Dr. Boris Otto , Director of Fraunhofer ISST and Professor for Industrial Information Management at TU Dortmund University. He is responsible for all research and innovation activities of Fraunhofer ISST. The institute’s main field of activity is digital business Engineering aiming at supporting enterprises of various sectors in their digital transformation. Fraunhofer ISST offers research and development services delivering comprehensive data-driven business solutions. Key to its portfolio of competencies is the close combination of both sound computer science and business engineering skills. A good example is the Industrial Data Space initiative in which Fraunhofer ISST takes over the leading role. Dr. Boris Otto is the coordinator of Data Spaces support Centre.
  • Sébastien Denvil is a seasoned Forecast Analyst at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). With over two decades of expertise, he has immersed himself in the realms of Climate Simulations, High-Performance Computing, E-Science Infrastructure, and cutting-edge software for both research and operational purposes. Sébastien is dedicated to advancing the understanding and prediction of weather patterns, leveraging his extensive background in the field.
  • Elisabeth Beck Knudsen- In her current role at the Technical University of Denmark within the Connecting Communities group, Elisabeth serves as the Deputy Coordinator for the European Data Space for Smart Communities action. This pivotal responsibility involves leading the creation of a large-scale cross-sectorial data space tailored for the smart communities of the European Union. With a background in Social Sciences, particularly in the field of Global Development, Elisabeth’s professional journey is characterized by a commitment to leveraging technology as a catalyst for positive societal change. Over the years, she has accumulated valuable experience as a Project Advisor and Project Coordinator for various research initiatives, equipping her with the skills necessary to adeptly navigate the intricacies of research projects and contribute meaningfully to their success.
