The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) in the context of the Enershare project, an EU-funded initiative creating a secure, accessible common energy data space for Europe. Given that IPTO is external to the Enershare consortium, this MoU establishes a strategic collaboration to drive innovation in energy data sharing in the energy sector.
Through this partnership, IPTO’s datasets from the “Operation & Market Files API” will be accessible within the Enershare Data Space, fostering transparency and supporting the EU’s vision for a unified energy data space. These datasets contain valuable insights into Greece’s energy operations, market dynamics, and grid performance, therefore supporting the EU’s vision for a unified energy data space by providing energy stakeholders across sectors with access to accurate, actionable information.
This initiative places Greece at the forefront of sustainable, data-driven energy solutions for Europe. Hence, the country strengthens its role in Europe’s energy transition but also leads by example in creating a data-rich environment where new, sustainable solutions can be developed, tested, and scaled continent-wide.
Together, NTUA, IPTO, and Enershare are contributing to bringing energy and data value chains to enable the energy transition in Europe!
