On November 13th, Enershare Pilot 1 was presented to 66 stakeholders from the wind energy field in the framework of the latest Wind Forum meeting organized by the Basque Energy Cluster, which took place at Bilbao Exhibition Centre. On this occasion, the event had a strong focus on offshore wind power.
Ainhoa Pujana (Tecnalia) and Iker Arrizabalaga (Hine) explained to the audience the work carried out in Enershare Pilot 1, which focused on Wind farm predictive maintenance and supply chain optimization. The services developed in this pilot allow for anomaly detection at critical components of a wind turbine, such as the gearbox, the electric generator, and the hydraulic pitch system. In addition, digital twins for the electric generator and the hydraulic pitch system have been engineered, enabling the generation of operation synthetic data.

The Wind Forum, promoted by the Basque Energy Cluster and co-chaired by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, gathers the main stakeholders in the regional Wind Energy value chain and holds regular meetings twice a year, focused on knowledge sharing and collaborative R&D activities.
In this meeting, Iberdrola gave a keynote speech, which presented the outlook for the offshore wind sector worldwide and its presence in these future projects. In addition, Iberdrola also showed the relationship it maintains with Basque suppliers for the execution of these projects and the quality requirements it demands from its suppliers for its offshore wind farms.
The Enershare Pilot 1 scope is closely linked to the Wind Forum objectives and expectations, especially regarding the use and analysis of the available data for improved efficiency, operation, and maintenance purposes, thus reducing O&M costs, which is a key issue for many of the attending companies.
